Hello parents, my name is Adrianna Cruz and I am the new Ballet teacher here at Spring Academy of Dance. I wanted you all to know a little about myself and my plans as the new member at Spring Academy of Dance. I started dancing at the age of three with the Aldine Dance Company, and was trained in Jazz, Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Tap. I started my intense Russian Ballet training when I was eleven years old with the Ballet Theatre of Houston. While there I had the privilege of being trained by Margo Marshall, Gilbert Rome, Tina Bohnstedt, and of course Robert Underwood. Under Mr. Underwoods training, I started pointe at 12 years old, became the youngest senior member at 12 years old, made it in to the Houston's Ballets Summer Intensive at 14 years old, and the Boston Ballets Summer Intensive at 16 years old. During this time I started teaching dance classes at my church, and after the age of 16 started to help Mr. Underwood teach the smaller students at my studio. I have been in numerous renditions of the Nutcracker, I competed for a short time, and danced in a plethora of other productions. While away in college I had the privilege to give a couple of private lessons at the local studio. More recently, I have continued my training with METdance in Ballet, Jazz, and Hip-Hop. While at the MET I had the privilege of meeting Coach A.P.. After speaking with him, I loved what his dance team, Code Red Pro Dance Team stood for and the message he was portraying. I decided to try out, and fortunately made it and have been with him ever since! I am also a current Accounting Major and hope to graduate summer 2018!
I hope to be able to teach your children about the beauty in simplicity. Ballet is not flashy or aggressive. It is graceful and elegant. Each step, each movement, and each line made during Ballet is calculated, meticulous, and so rich in technique that one must appreciate the beauty that is portrayed so effortlessly in Ballet. Even though Ballet is graceful it is not easy by any means. I believe through hard work and dedication anything is achievable.

I began my love of dance in high school as a member, officer and Commanding General of the Eisenhower High School Golden Eaglettes. After high school, I continued my dance career as a staff member of MA Dance for two years. While pursuing a degree in Child Development and Psychology at Houston Baptist University, I was a member of the cheerleading squad and taught cheer and dance in local after-school programs. After college, I danced for the Texas Copperheads arena football team, Texas Hurricanes arena football team and the Houston Energy Women's football team.
